To cultivate empathy is to choose curiosity over judgment and understanding over indifference. It asks us to step outside of our own perspective and engage with the complexity of someone else’s experience. This process requires humility, a deep attentiveness to emotion, and the willingness to sit with discomfort. Empathy does not always offer solutions, but it creates a foundation for trust and solidarity. When practiced with intention, empathy becomes a bridge across difference and a powerful tool for healing, reconciliation, and shared humanity.
